During level flight, they can achieve speeds of about 30 to 35 mph. Wild bald eagles may live as long as thirty years. Follow the leader. Canada Geese follow a leader and take turns leading. The goose in the front of the V formation has the hardest job, they are breaking the flow of air and everyone else is benefiting.
